Busy two weeks of boxing. Finally home. I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day..
Can't tell you how proud I am of the Espinoza Boxing Fighters. Friday, May 3 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Joet Gonzalez had a great unanimous decision and Antonio Orozco had a dominate performance with a 7th rd KO.
Saturday, May 4, Abner and Ponce had a great fight. I believe was the fight of the night. I congratulate both fighters. With that fight, Abner became three times World Champ. With big things to come. Also Thank you to OG ABEL for his support outfitting Abner, Oscar and Antonio making them look classy in the ring.

Rios to Rise at Club Phoenix

This time last year, featherweight prospect Ronny Rios (who faces Jeremy McLaurin at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim, California, as the main event on this week’s edition of Telefutura’s “Solo Boxeo”) didn’t know if his boxing career was coming to a premature end. He had tested positive for Hepatitis-C (which would’ve forced him to retire from the sport). Eventually, it was discovered that it was a false-positive and Rios was free to ply his trade as a prizefighter.

Former WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce de Leon (42-4, 35 KO’s) ended his two-fight losing streak on Saturday night in stopping the inexperienced and badly over his head Omar Estrella (15-4-2, 10 KO’s) in the 6th round at the Bodega Del Boxeo, Ensenada, Baja, California, Mexico.

Ponce de Leon Turns the Page

For featherweight Daniel Ponce de Leon, his 10th year as a professional was one he’d rather forget. Yeah, he made some money as he appeared on HBO twice in 2011 but he was 0-for-2 in a pair of bouts against Adrien Broner and Yuriorkis Gamboa. The awkward, hard-hitting southpaw is looking forward to a much more productive 2012 as prepares to face Omar Estrella this weekend in Ensenada, Mexico.
