When it comes to prospects, glossy records attract all the attention. Unbeaten records, and, preferably, early knockout streaks catch the imagination of the fans. Matchmakers often struggle to search the world over for corpses just warm enough to pass for opponents to keep the unbeaten streaks alive. However, every prospect, inevitably, runs into a nut that is a lot harder to crack. Keeping that unbeaten record intact is the primary goal whether it be through intestinal fortitude or official ineptitude. Rip them with right crosses and left hooks or rip them off on the cards. That’s boxing’s unofficial version of six of one and half a dozen of the other.
